Week 1-Interview,ER Visit & New Job

Saturday 11-15-2008 - Drove from Midway, Ut to Las Vegas Nv with my parents who dropped me off at The Bass Pro Shop parking lot while my friends Karen and Spencer Parkes were waiting for me. We unpacked my stuff and put into the Parkes car. (For those who do not know the Parkes Family I have to say you are missing out. Karen was one of my missionary companions on my mission.) Then off I went headed for Arizona. We drove over the Hoover dam and got yelled at by a cop cause we stopped to get out to take a picture. So I didn't get the picture that I wanted but I still did get the picture of Welcome to Arizona. It was a long road trip. We stopped at a wonderful burger place where I watch a homeless man roll up a joint and go outside to smoke it. He ask Karen and I if we would watch his back pack. Now that is I first of first for me having a homeless man as me to watch his stuff. We got in pretty late and I went straight to the Parkes Home in Queen Creek, AZ. Where I got a some what night's sleep.

Sunday 11-16-2008 - I stayed all day Sunday in Queen Creek, AZ with the Parkes Family and their 3 girls Rachel, Ruth, Becca..It was a nice sunday to spend after a long road trip.

Monday 11-17-2008 - Stayed most of the day with Karen and her girls. We waited for Spencer to come home from work to bring a trailer to move my things. So I got to my new place and it is a very nice home that I am living in. I have a light purple room that I am not sure I am a fan of. If I have anything to do with it the color will not last long. I meet my roommates that night for a few minutes. Tera and Tina are from Mesa and are BEST FRIENDS! Then there is Becky and she went to BYU! Tera is an RN and works in Scottdale and Tina and Becky are both school teachers. They are really nice girls and I am looking forward to getting to know them more.

Tuesday 11-18-2008 - I took Arizona Public Transportation for a test ride. Some of you know that I do not have a car so I have to learn the bus routes. Which was not that hard in Utah but in Arizona it a whole different story. It took me half of the day okay maybe not have of the day but an hour to just find the bus stop that I need to go to to get on the bus. After walking around the block a million times I called my friend Karen and she directed me to where I needed to be heading. Then I got on the bus and was heading to where I was going to have my job interview on Wednesday. When I got to the first stop I got off and really didn't know if I was at the right stop and where I was heading was right. I asked a very nice young lady that helped me figure out the bus route and how things work. The second stop was where my interview going to be. It took me another hour to the building that I needed to find for the office I was going too. What a long day. But I felt good about be able to figure out the bus route.

Wednesday 11-19-2008 - I had a job interview at Tri-City Cardiology at 1pm. The interview lasted for an hour. I would say it was one of the best interviews that I have done. I was myself. I made joke about only having 9 fingers and they laughed the whole time during the interview about having 9 fingers. Came home and Spencer picked me out and heading out to Queen Creek for the weekend.

Thursday 11-20-2008 - 4:30am woke up to my hand itching and burning..my hands started to get really red and burning the only thing to make them feel better was putting them under cold water or scratching them. About 5am I woke up Karen and Spencer to get some benadryl. At that point my hands were swollen and hands, arms, face started to turn red and I was itching EVERYWHERE my feet started to get swollen. I decieded at this point I needed to go to the ER. So off I went to Mercy Gilbert Medical Center...Spencer got me there in 17min. When driving the speed limit it takes 35min. All the staff at the ER were very nice and I did not have to wait at all. They don't know what caused me to break out in a rash but to just take some benadryl. Needless to say I slept most of that day on Karen and Spencer's couch. When I did finally woke up I had a phone call from Tri-City Cardiology they offered me the job. So I start on Monday. I can't wait.

Friday 11-21-2008 - I just hung out at Parkes home and watched Karen's girls while she took her mom shopping. The Elder's came over and we talked with them.

What a week for you girl!! The good, the bad, and the ugly! I am so glad you got the job. I am sure you will see your share of people with Down syndrome in a cardio clinic. Keep blogging and taking pics, it's fun to see how things are.
